Ted Scheinman Scholarship Endowment

For more than 50 years, Economics Instructor Ted Scheinman has dedicated his career to educating and inspiring students at Mt. Hood Community College. Throughout his remarkable tenure, Ted has taught thousands of students, helping them develop critical thinking skills, understand economic principles, and achieve their educational goals. His commitment to student success extends far beyond the classroom.

Driven by a deep desire to help future generations of students, Ted established the Ted Scheinman Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship reflects his lifelong belief in the transformative power of education and his unwavering dedication to student achievement. Through this endowed fund, Ted’s impact will continue for years to come, providing financial support and opportunity to MHCC students while carrying forward his extraordinary legacy of teaching, mentorship, and service.

Criteria:
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria.
• Must be in a degree seeking or transfer program at MHCC.
• Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA

Requirements:
Once selected, the recipient must meet the following requirements in order to remain eligible for this scholarship:
• Must maintain part-time enrollment at MHCC (6+ credits per term) during each term the scholarship is in effect
• Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as defined by the MHCC Office of Financial Aid (excluding maximum timeframe requirements). Visit https://mhcc.edu/KeepMyAid/ for more information.

Scholarship Details:
• Funds will be distributed equally between fall, winter, and spring terms.
• Scholarship is renewable for a second year.
• Scholarship funds may be used for all costs of attending college including tuition, fees, books, supplies, transportation, etc. Any amount remaining after tuition and fees are paid will be disbursed directly to the recipient.
